2. Suitable for flexible substrates (e.g., COP, PET, PI, etc.).
3. Compatible with IGH-line or I-line exposure systems.
4. Compatible with KOH development system.
5. High-resolution capability (5-6 μm line).
Ⅱ、Application Fields:
1. LCD Panels — Color Filter Black Matrix Fabrication:
The core application of the EK series is the construction of black matrix structures for TFT-LCD color filters. Positioned between R/G/B subpixels, the black matrix separates pixel units, prevents inter-pixel light leakage, and effectively enhances screen contrast and display uniformity. Patterned accurately through lithography processes, EK series photoresist forms a high light-shielding grid matrix, serving as a fundamental guarantee for excellent LCD display quality.
2. One Glass Solution (OGS) Touch Devices:
In OGS manufacturing processes where touch sensors are directly integrated on the inner side of cover glass, EK 570, EK 620 and other grades are widely adopted as black mask materials. They form decorative and light-shielding black borders around touch panels, while delivering comprehensive protective properties including anti-static performance and superior chemical resistance.
3. Flexible and Foldable Displays:
As AMOLED technology evolves toward flexible and foldable forms, conventional black photoresists requiring high-temperature curing (above 200 °C) are no longer compatible with heat-sensitive flexible substrates such as PI, PET and COP. The ultra-low-temperature curing EK series, including EK 625, EK 670 and EK 680, supports post-bake curing at only 85 °C. It enables precise BM patterning without damaging flexible substrates, making it one of the key materials for foldable smartphones, rollable TVs and other flexible display products.
4. Insulation and Protection Layers for Touch Sensors:
In projected capacitive touch panels, the EK series can be used as insulating and protective layers for touch sensing circuits, while providing targeted light-shielding functions to ensure stable and accurate touch signal response. The transparent EOC series OC photoresist and black EK series BM photoresist are commonly used in combination, undertaking the core functions of insulation protection and pixel light shielding respectively.
5. Automotive Displays and Smart Cockpits:
Automotive display scenarios demand higher standards for contrast, long-term reliability and weather resistance. Featuring outstanding heat resistance, humidity resistance and chemical stability, the EK series black matrix products are widely applied in automotive central control screens, instrument panels and head-up displays (HUD). They maintain stable light-shielding and insulating performance under harsh working conditions such as high and low temperature cycling and high humidity environments.
6. Micro/Mini LED Displays (Emerging Application):
In Micro and Mini LED display technologies, black matrix is applied for optical isolation between adjacent LED chips to improve contrast and eliminate optical crosstalk. With high-resolution patterning capability (5–6 μm line width) and low-temperature curing process, the EK series adapts to the fine pixel pitch and temperature-sensitive substrate requirements of Micro/Mini LED devices, making it an ideal candidate BM material for next-generation display technologies.
